About Learning with Stacey
With over 20 years of experience in education, I work closely with students to help them understand, apply, and grow in their learning with clarity and confidence.
My approach is rooted in how children actually learn—not through memorization or repetition alone, but through thoughtful guidance, questioning, and meaningful practice. I focus on helping students make sense of what they are learning so they can become more independent and capable over time.
I work with students in grades 2–5 who may need support, confidence, or deeper development in reading, writing, and math. Whether a child is struggling, keeping up, or ready to be challenged, my goal is to meet them where they are and help them move forward in a way that feels clear and manageable.
What I Support
I support both the academic and emotional side of learning—because children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and capable.
• Building confidence and reducing frustration
• Creating a calm, supportive learning environment
• Strengthening reading, writing, and math skills
• Developing independent thinking, organization, and problem-solving
Each session is personalized to your child’s needs, pace, and learning style—so they can grow not just academically, but with greater confidence in themselves.
Why This Works
Many tutoring programs rely on repetition, packets, or fixed systems. While these can be helpful in the short term, they often don’t address how a child thinks or where confusion begins.
My approach is different.
Instead of relying on one method, I adapt each session to the child in front of me. This may include guided discussion, targeted practice, problem-solving, or interactive learning—depending on what helps your child understand best.
The focus is on helping students make sense of what they are learning, so they can build confidence, think independently, and apply their skills beyond a single assignment.
How It Works
1. We start with a conversation
We talk about your child—what’s going well, where there are challenges, and what you’re hoping to see improve.
2. I meet them where they are
I quickly get a sense of how your child learns and where to focus, so each session feels clear, manageable, and productive.
3. We build skills and confidence over time
Through consistent, personalized sessions, your child gains understanding, independence, and stronger learning habits that carry beyond a single assignment.
You don’t need to have all the answers—that’s where I come in.
